One of the most frequently-repeated pieces of advice or instruction in scripture is some variation on “Do not be afraid.” Boy that seems like difficult advice to follow! In the process of writing this sermon, I asked a whole bunch of friends what they are afraid of, and looked at what those scriptures have to say about how to get out from under fear.
