Winding Ways

    He Leadeth Me

    He Leadeth Me –  27″ x 27″  –   photographs, wax encaustic  –   Ordinary Time 2005

Each day and each decade of our lives will involve unexpected twists and turns. The task of Ordinary Time is to recognize the presence of God in these various paths; to know that wherever we go, God accompanies us, even in difficult terrain, and to learn to seek God’s guidance.

The quilt pattern that this piece is based on is called “Winding Ways,” and the piece was inspired by Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi’s translation of the 23rd Psalm, in which he says “He leads me in the circuitous paths of righteousness.”  Listen to him translating the whole Psalm here.
